A Survivor's Journey from a Cult Childhood

Daniel Israel Yarbough

Daniel Israel Yarbough

Author | Survivor | Storyteller

Daniel Israel Yarbough is the author of Misled: A Survivor's Journey from a Cult Childhood, a deeply personal memoir chronicling his experience growing up within a religious cult and the lasting impact those experiences had on his life.

Through Misled, Daniel gives readers a firsthand look at childhood shaped by religious control, fear, obedience and misplaced trust, while exploring what it means to carry those experiences into adulthood. His story also examines survival, faith, family and the difficult process of confronting a past that continued to influence his life long after childhood ended.

By sharing his story, Daniel hopes to create conversations that encourage greater understanding of cult experiences, particularly from the perspective of children, while giving other survivors permission to examine and ultimately tell their own stories.

MISLED : A Survivor's Journey From A Cult Childhood

"Misled" is a haunting memoir that exposes the dark reality of life inside the House of Judah. This religious cult masked child abuse behind the veneer of spiritual devotion. Read this impelling story through the eyes of a young boy who survived unspeakable trauma. His story reveals how false leaders can destroy families and steal childhoods under the guise of divine authority.

"Misled" is more than the beginning of a survivor's tale-it's a compelling narrative that forces us to confront uncomfortable questions about faith, family, and the fine line between religious freedom and criminal abuse. It reminds us that sometimes the bravest thing we can do is tell our truth, no matter the cost.

This compelling narrative forces us to confront uncomfortable questions about faith, family, and the fine line between religious freedom and criminal abuse while offering hope to others who have survived similar ordeals. "Misled" reminds us that sometimes the bravest thing we can do is tell our truth, no matter the cost.
